Big Luther Kent at Gino's
Hi,
It was a pleasure and an honor to sit in with Big Luther Kent and his Jazz band last night at Gino's Restaurant in Baton Rouge, La. He had Bruce Elensohn on piano, Jay Miles Griggs on bass, Allyn Robinson on drums and special guest previously of "Louisiana's Leroux" Bobby Campo on trumpet. All of the musicians were playing amazing solos.
Luther was entertaining the dining crowd with a mix of jazz standards and blues shuffles to their amazement and enjoyment. I sat in on Harmonica to the Albert King song "Crosscut Saw" resulting in a generous applause from the audience. Luther introduced me to the crowd following the song. I must say that Luther and his band were on top of their game as always. I saw some familiar faces in the crowd including Johnny Palazotto of Pal productions.
